It is never a dull moment at Brady! Taking team working outside of the office and throwing in a little healthy competition resulted in our London colleagues initiating the first ‘Brady Open’ golf tournament at JunkYard Golf in Shoreditch.
‘Brady Open’ took place on a 9-hole mini golf course where we had to navigate around some tricky obstacles. Many fine (and creative) putting shots were made, although I don’t think anyone is ready to hang up their Brady shoes and become a pro golfer just yet.
On the evening we had a good mix of people across departments from technology to sales and HR and created four teams; the ‘All Blacks’, ‘Wallabies’, ‘Springboks’ and ‘Pumas’ (can you tell our Social Committee Chair is a South African rugby fan?)
All teams played well but there could only be one winner, on this occasion the ‘Pumas’ were able to claim bragging rights. As with all competitive sports people, there was some contention over their score keeping! The standout player for the night was easily Dany Grade, our Account Manager. Incredibly she scored 19 overall which meant an average of just over 2 shots per hole!
A fun night was had by all and although we’re a social bunch in the London office, it was a great way to collaborate across teams outside of the office. Our Information Systems Engineer, Jonathan Salisbury summed it up nicely by saying, “This was not the first social event I have been to at Brady but I really enjoyed the opportunity to socialise with colleagues who I don’t necessarily deal directly with in my role on a day-to-day basis.”
Brady has a social committee based at every office across the network, each committee is tasked with organising different events throughout the year. No two Brady nights out are ever the same! In 2019 the teams have participated in a big variety of activities from muddy obstacle races, scenic hiking to wine tasting.
Take a look at our photos below, you can see some people took it very seriously and others, well, not so much!
